About Me

I was born late in 1988 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Here I attended elementary, high school, and higher education programmes.
My first work experience was also near Gothenburg.

After spending a few years working, I moved on to study language in South Korea for a year, before rediscovering my interest and passion for game making, which lead to applying for a 4-year programme in the Netherlands dedicated to game design.

After a brief adventure in Norway, I again reside in my hometown of Gothenburg, eager for whatever opportunity comes next.

Inspirations

I find inspiration in a variety of places. Within games I find myself often seeking out shorter experiences when I need an influx of inspiration, but I also look to older games with a modern lens for ideas.

A major inspiration for me is language. I’m the type of person who can’t stop myself from looking up the etymology of new words I come across. I’m endlessly fascinated by the relationship between different languages and origins of phrases.

In other media I mostly turn to TV and books where I enjoy most genres and try to pull from a diverse range of sources (whether that be the origin of the author(s), the piece’s topic, or the language).

Architecture is another sources of inspiration, an interest born out of my brief time studying art history as a young adult. Both as art and in terms of design principles, architecture is a place I draw ideas from.

And of course, travel. When the chance comes along, I deeply appreciate experiencing different settings and cultures.

Aspirations

My foremost goal in my career as a game designer is to achieve a position where I and those I collaborate with bring each other joy and motivation to achieve things we are truly passionate about.
While my education prepared me to take part in AAA production, this is ultimately not where I see myself in the long run. I still think experience in that part of the industry would be valuable to me, but as has become clear to me over the years, a moderately sized team is where I thrive.

As a level designer, I aspire to have a career lined with beloved levels designed with a modern and inventive ethos. The part of the team which facilitate the player’s interaction with the creations of the studio is the most exciting place to be for me!

In a more direct and personal way, a dream project of mine has always been to take part in the development of a grand RPG, modernizing the older systems of genre classics and having a tangible part in the design of as many aspects of the game (levels, systems, narrative, etc.) as I am allowed!

Bonus: Formative Games
